Gifts from Panda πŸ₯°

Opening my gifts from Panda!

Panda BLESSED me with a gift bag full of Christmas gifts. She knows me so well and I am so in love with everything πŸ₯Ί Gift giving & receiving is definitely my love language that I practice with anyone involved in my life. Are you important to me? Here’s a gift! You gave me a gift? That must mean I’m important to you!

The gnome is the perfect mix of Halloween and Christmas. He will be on display year-round!

The hot chocolate turns PINK! I haven’t used it yet. I’m big on decadent cups of hot chocolate this season and am looking forward to using this package πŸ₯°

The earrings were custom ordered for me and I’m obsessed. They remind me of the Solstice with the ‘gold sun’, and I love the white half moons. I’ve worn them so many times already.

The candle is my favourite smell ever. I loove candles that smell edible πŸ˜‚

The body lotion is a holiday scent from the line Panda carries in her spa. This lotion is soo moisturizing and the scents are always amazing.

The BOOKS are ah-mazing! I fell in love with the Shadow and Bone series over the Spring when my friend Ruby lent me her copies. I crossed my fingers that I would get a set of my own someday and Panda made it happen.

I honestly didn’t know what Panda was getting me for Christmas. This was so unexpected and so, so nice to know that she just gets me and saw things that she instantly knew I’d love πŸ₯Ί

Thank you, Panda!

Guess who’s back? (It’s me.)

Hello yes I’m finally back. Can I remember anything that happens if I don’t write it down these days? No, I cannot.

A lot of people can blame their brain fog on the unprecedented times we’re all living in but I have the added bonus of dealing with multiple sclerosis.

Upon reading my old blogs, I remembered how much I enjoyed blogging about my life and looking back on old pictures & memories.

I haven’t used WordPress in nearly two years and tbh some stuff feels different, but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it eventually. Next post: my Christmas haul from my friends and family this year!

Eff School.

School has been, hands down, the BIGGEST mistake of my life. Even worse than mixing vodka and Red Bull.

December 2nd was my last semester of college – and the school screwed it up πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Finances wouldn’t release my funding until the registrar’s office confirmed I was registered, and the registrar’s office wouldn’t register me until my funding was released…do you see my problem here?! Meanwhile school STARTED because I was enrolled (but not registered?!), so I did not have my funding for textbooks πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

My Psych class was easy enough without the text but Bookkeeping was a nightmare to understand. I did not receive my funding until January 2nd πŸ™ƒ

The stress of everything led to a HUGE flare-up of my chronic illness in mid-December. I developed numbness in my entire right arm, plus an obscure sensitivity/overwhelming urge to tear my skin off my right shoulder, numbness in my chest, balance and walking problems, double vision, vertigo, and cognitive issues that manifested in short-term menory problems, an inability to understand numbers as well as saying the wrong words ALL. THE. TIME. It’s horribly embarrassing =(

Bookkeeping has suffered the most. My melting brain cannot make sense of the numbers no matter how many times I read them. My teacher is pretty much useless so I rely on the textbook (that took forevs), the online tests and good ol’ Google…but even then I don’t understand anything. The numbers have completely lost all meaning for me and whereas in the past I could recall every 12-digit part number in our inventory at BMW Marine, now I struggle to remember which account three numbers stand for in Bookkeeping.

The only upside is this flare-up has caused my medical team to think I may have multiple sclerosis, since I’ve experienced similar flare-ups (although not as bad) in the past. I’m now waiting for an MRI in two months. At least it’s a start.

2019: Year in Review.

Oof, it’s hard to review a year when you haven’t blogged since September 2018…πŸ˜‚

January

  • Vowed to be witchy af in 2019. Had no other goals.
  • Had a horrific lapse in judgement and decided to apply to college. Year-long breakdown ensued.
  • Helped my bestie Lolo find her wedding dress.
  • Spent several blissful days in the city with my boy.
  • Started planning a Toronto trip to see the GazettE and meet Saara-sama!

February

  • February was fraught with pain as I faced a new mysterious illness.
  • Got accepted to Algonquin- mostly thanks to my boy & besties for encouraging me and no thanks at all to Kenamatewin.
  • Started driving school.
  • Fell in love with opossums.
  • Had a birthday week instead of a birthday month. Started off with a trip to Thermea, my favourite bakeries and a metaphysical shop with my bestie Roku!
  • On my birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a birthday message filmed by Alan Doyle, one of my favourite singers! He met Alan by chance at an airport and asked for an autograph for my birthday – and Alan himself suggested a video 😭
  • The day after my birthday, my bestie Lolo took me out for drinks & appies πŸ’•
  • I also bought myself a vehicle on my birthday~ a red Ford Escape I call Alita.
  • Birthday week concluded with decadent birthday waffles with my fam.

March

  • Finally figured out my pain – a stomach ulcer! Courtesy of being stressed about college, driving and money. I had to take eight pills a day that cost me $200. Good times.
  • I fell in love with SO many books in March. Crown of Feathers, Girls of Paper and Fire, the Immortals series…
  • Took my niece to the Children’s Museum in Winnipeg. She loved it!
  • A new breakfast place (the Hungry Pug) opened in town and I had a breakfast date with my sister-witch, Uri.
  • Otherwise March was boring.

April

  • April was a busy month! School started, I was prepping for my Toronto trip, I had soo many tea leaf reading parties AND I changed jobs.
  • Leaving my comfortable job at a local clothing shop and becoming the manager of a busy, locally-owned gift shop was quite the change 😭
  • I had one of my best nights bartending!
  • I geocached a lot AND found a salamander at one cache! Eee!
  • I did amazingly well in school although I was stressed beyond belief.

May

  • I started May with the Spring Makers Market at the bar where I read tea leaves. I met an amazing plant medicine student!
  • I flew to Toronto to meet Saara-sama, a friend I met on Livejournal back in 2006/07. We had never met in person until May 7, 2019! We met at the airport and then Ubered to our amazing Airbnb in Leslieville.
  • Oh, this will just be a list of Toronto activities now. As an INCREDIBLY late birthday present, Saara-sama treated me to my first musical! Fitting, as she’s the one who started my love for musicals all those years ago. We saw ‘Next to Normal’ and I loved every minute of it!
  • We got our nails done on Queen Street – major claws for the GazettE concert and my first time having my nails done!
  • We attended the GazettE concert! My second time, Saara-sama’s first. We met up with my friend Christine (who I met at the concert in 2016)! Unfortunately the concert was seated and we had all bought our tickets at different times, so we were all seated in different areas. Also the merch table was a MESS and I was only able to get one shirt for Roku 😭
  • The concert was incredible. I put another concert-goer in a chokehold for filming AND THAT’S A STORY FOR ANOTHER TIME.
  • Because we had all bought VIP tickets, we got to meet the band (my second time). I was finally brave enough to tell Ruki his music saved my life 😭 such an incredible experience.
  • AND THEN Saara-sama and I went to the Game of Thrones bar! I’ve thought about that hummus every single day.
  • Saara-sama went home early the day after the concert (we were up mad late…) and that day I wandered up Queen and visited every shop that caught my fancy.
  • I only spent 4.5 days in Toronto but my entire May was spent reminiscing about it πŸ˜‚

June

  • In June I started taking care of my mental health and began seeing a counselor.
  • I was finally approved for a surgery. which got cancelled while I was waiting to be taken into the OR. So my bestie and I geocached all the way home…and stumbled into a patch of poison oak.
  • One of my family’s dogs, Turbo, passed away. πŸ’•

July

  • July started with first semester exams.
  • I smashed the shit out of my new phone when I threw it on top of my amethyst cluster πŸ˜‚
  • Thankfully, I was able to get my phone fixed when Lo and I had a girls’ day in the city.
  • I left my job at the bar as managing a busy shop and balancing full-time college was becoming impossible.
  • I played ‘Truth Hurts’ by Lizzo pretty much on repeat.
  • I got my license!
  • And I got my rescheduled surgery! Waking up after was a BITCH but recovery (a week off work) was surprisingly okay.
  • My mother and I participated in Plaidurday and helped our town set a world record for the most people wearing plaid!
  • I finished July with an emotional rollercoaster of a day. I had a traditional counseling session with an elder who I respect very much. I was adopted into the marten clan and given some tasks for my healing journey. Then I visited Nicole at the market and got an amazing henna piece! Then I spent the rest of my day at the island with my boy πŸ’•

August

  • The fair was in town! I went with Boo, Roku, Saeryn and Roku’s niece and nephew. I didn’t go on any rides due to my surgery but I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the fair.
  • August Long was Harbourfest and I finally got ice cream from the BDI truck!
  • I put one of my rescue guinea pigs, Gidget, to sleep πŸ’”
  • Second semester of school started and I hated it just as much as the first.
  • Boo, Roku, Saeryn and I attended the Swords & Sabres Family Festival! Steampunk, medieval, pirates…what more could a girl ask for?!
  • Boo fell in love with belly dancing at the festival.
  • I had the ultimate dream team at work. Too many good days to list!
  • I crashed the boys’ fishing trip weekend! Had a brutal hangover on Saturday but recovered in time to join the boys for wake surfing πŸ’•
  • I had a lovely sistermoon with Uri & Roku! We rented an Airbnb owned by a witch, shopped, and saw RENT!

September

  • I finally got in to see an allergist – and it turns out I’m allergic to nothing.
  • Lolo was married on September 21st! The wedding was beautiful!
  • I met a Sphinx cat at a tea leaf reading party 😭
  • I hid my first geocache!

October

  • Season of the witch! October was my favourite.
  • I had the loveliest time with my boy at the island before season close-up. He spoiled me with Halloween goodies and season 4 of the Magicians, squee!
  • I managed to convince my boss to order sasquatch stuff for the store…and it was a hit πŸ˜‚
  • My geocache was found AND given a favourite point!
  • I fell in love (again) with a vest I had bought from Hot Topic ages ago and wore it as much as possible.
  • I developed a slight obsession with ghosts πŸ˜…
  • Roku and I went to see a performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show!
  • The new art gallery in town opened and I went just to see Nicole for henna and smuggle macarons out in my cake-shaped purse.
  • Roku and I had lunch at Clementine Cafe in Winnipeg. It was yummy!
  • I treated Rory to dinner at the Cornerstone for her birthday πŸ’•
  • I dressed up as a circus girl for Halloween!

November

  • I read Maggie Stiefvater’s ‘The Scorpio Races’ on the first day of November because duhh!
  • The first week of November was stressful af due to an issue with my exams 😭 it eventually got sorted.
  • Maggie Stiefvater’s ‘Call Down The Hawk’ was released and I devoured it in one day. SO GOOD.
  • I also read The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden and it blew my mind.
  • My parents went to Germany for a few weeks to see family.
  • The store had its ten year anniversary!

December

  • I became obsessed with Krampus all over again.
  • Roku and I did some Christmas shopping in the city!
  • Basically December is a BLUR thanks to how crazy Christmas in retail is.
  • I got my beloved MΓ©tis mukluks!
  • School was even more stressful.
  • But it turns out I’m pretty good at abnormal psychology.
  • Ericka decked me out with a Christmas manicure!
  • I fell in love with Hyde’s Anti album.
  • I finally met my Instagram friend Danielle!
  • I went on a long, bush-crashing hike on Christmas day.

Basically, school was my biggest regret of 2019 πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ or at least, tackling it while I was also working a busy full-time management job.

I had tons of tea leaf reading parties and Tarot readings.

I did not make time to read books unfortunately and fell short on my reading challenge. This year I’d like to achieve it.

I have pretty much no goals for 2020 other than survive the last semester of school.

Unboxing: OwlCrate’s September 2018 Box ‘Masters of Disguise’

All I ever do is take photos of my subscription boxes.

Today I’m unboxing OwlCrate’s September box!

The theme is ‘Masters of Disguise’. These are the inserts that come with every box~ a mini zine and a pamphlet detailing the box’s ccontents.

The first item is an art print of character Lila Bard from the Shades of Magic series! (Illustrated by Kirsty Carter)

The second item that took up most of the box πŸ˜‚ An exclusive Prisoner of Azkaban ceramic mug by Cara Kozik! I believe OwlCrate is doing a series of these mugs and they’ll only be available in boxes.

Other side of the mug~

A package of foaming bath salts inspired by The Diabolic and created by Leeloo Soaps. These look so fun. I can’t wait to use them!

This ‘The Kiss of Deception’ balm from Geekfire Labs was the next item. It’s apple mint!

Probably my favourite item! These fingerless gloves, inspired by Six of Crows, were created exclusively by OwlCrate.

A little freebie & promo for an upcoming book (which sounds interesting).

And this month’s book! Mirage by Somaiya Daud.

In a star system dominated by the brutal Vathek empire, eighteen-year-old Amani is a dreamer. She dreams of what life was like before the occupation; she dreams of writing poetry like the old-world poems she adores; she dreams of receiving a sign from Dihya that one day, she, too, will have adventure, and travel beyond her isolated moon.

But when adventure comes for Amani, it is not what she expects: she is kidnapped by the regime and taken in secret to the royal palace, where she discovers that she is nearly identical to the cruel half-Vathek Princess Maram. The princess is so hated by her conquered people that she requires a body double, someone to appear in public as Maram, ready to die in her place.

As Amani is forced into her new role, she can’t help but enjoy the palace’s beautyβ€”and her time with the princess’ fiancΓ©, Idris. But the glitter of the royal court belies a world of violence and fear. If Amani ever wishes to see her family again, she must play the princess to perfection…because one wrong move could lead to her death.’

I’m so in love with every item from this month’s box!

xo!

Unboxing: Raven Reads’ July 2018 Box ‘America’

Back at it with another unboxing post! Today we have a book box from Raven Reads, a Canadian subscription box dedicated to showcasing Indigenous authors and artists in their quarterly themed boxes. This is the second box I’ve received. (I purchased a subscription as a gift to my mother. This review is unsolicited and 100% my own opinions.)

The boxes are CAD $49.99 plus tax and shipping to my location in Northwestern Ontario is $14. The subscriptions ship out every three months. They’ve been operating for nearly a year and business is really booming! I had to wait a while for this box to come in due to its popularity but it was worth it.

July’s theme was ‘America’ and featured items from various First Nations tribes in America.

Yay!

I had no idea what to expect in this month’s box…

The box came with two cards – one being the information card and the other a letter from the curator. Those will be pictured at the end of this post!

The first item is a culture card featuring members of the Osage Nation.

The back of the card details the harrowing story of the Osage Nation.

Second item~ delicious fry bread mix from Red Corn Native Foods located on the Osage Nation Reservation. All you need to do is add water!

The third item is an amazing sweetgrass scented soy & beeswax candle from Sequoia Native Handmade Organics, which sounds like an incredible company based in Kahnawake Mohawk territory in NY!

The fourth item…a hint to this month’s book?! (Also, I’m not sure who created this sturdy tote!)

And this month’s book! Ahh! There There by Tommy Orange. I’ve been wanting to read this book since I first heard about it.

Here is a story of several people, each of whom has private reasons for travelling to the Big Oakland Powwow. Jacquie Red Feather is newly sober and trying to make it back to the family she left behind in shame. Dene Oxendene is pulling his life together after his uncle’s death and has come to work at the powwow to honour his uncle’s memory. Opal Viola Victoria Bear Shield has come to watch her nephew Orvil Red Feather, who has taught himself traditional Indian dance through YouTube videos and has come to the powwow to dance in public for the very first time. There will be glorious communion, and a spectacle of sacred tradition and pageantry. And there will be sacrifice, and heroism, and unspeakable loss.

The aforementioned letter from the curator and informational card~

And a little more about the box’s contents.

I was very impressed with this box! The different items were excellent and I am so, so excited to read There There!

I highly recommend this box for anyone who wishes to learn more about the history and culture of different Indigenous groups, as well as support native-owned small businesses and the like.

Unboxing: OwlCrate’s July 2018 Box ‘Strange & Unusual’

Super quick photo dump of OwlCrate’s latest box!

This theme sounded like it was right up my alley!

First item~ a Funko keychain of Eleven from Stranger Things! I’ve watched maybe five minutes of this series πŸ˜‚

Second item was a container of skull-shaped pushpins. These are made of silicone and are great quality!

This was my favourite…a tin of Mystifying Mints! I haven’t tried the mints yet. I just like the tin.

Keeping in theme, this Luna Lovegood sticker was this month’s sticker. I LOVE this artwork.

I was super excited for an item inspired by Maggie Stiefvater’s Raven Cycle~ and this wallet is it! (Personally I would’ve liked if a raven were featured on it…)

Inside of the wallet. This is a nice size to fit a phone!

How whimsical is this artwork?!

This flag was inspired by Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. I gave it to my niece because it’s her fav movie.

This month’s book is a retelling of Jane Eyre with a spooky twist.

It came with a letter from the author, as usual, and a diorama that can be coloured in!

Cooks Creek Medieval Festival – 07.28.2018

This weekend was the Cooks Creek Medieval Festival! I went with my bestie, her daughter and my niece. It was our first time going and we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. I knew I wanted to see the jousting, get another henna tattoo and visit the Braid Bar (hairstyling) & Garden of Ale (booze!). The girls wanted to get their faces painted.

We had a fairly uneventful drive to the festival grounds, which was nice cuz these two can be a bit unpredictable πŸ˜‚

Mirror selfie at the gas station cuz I knew I wouldn’t get many pics of my outfit. I wore a wrap around sari skirt, a crop top with bandage straps, and my utility belt to keep my hands free.

Boo & Saeryn with the moose at the gas station πŸ˜‚

On our way to the middle of nowhere for the festival.

Saeryn in the costume her mom made and Boo wearing a faerie costume!

We got there around 10:30 and lined up at 11:15. We were maybe the 10th people in line. This photo was taken at 11:50!

Stamped and ready to go!

They let us in at 12 and we watched the ringing of the bells. The merchants’ alley was set up right next to the belltower so we wandered through there. I wish I had taken more pics of the stalls. I wanted to go to the Braid Bar to get my hair done, but they seemed kinda quiet and the face paint was right beside it. We decided to do face paint & henna first.

Boo getting her face painted and Saeryn micromanaging πŸ˜‚

The girls admiring their new face paint! It was $15 with the handmade unicorn horns. Photo by the henna lady, Kim.

My bestie got a small artist’s choice henna tattoo on her wrist.

And my mandala on my shoulder! I liked the glitter but I think it made Roku’s henna flake off immediately.

Roku made appointments for Saeryn and I at the Braid Bar while I was getting my henna. Turns out they were actually super busy!

Boo & Saeryn.

The stage at the grotto, where dance performances would be held throughout the day. Unfortunately I didn’t pay attention to the notice board with the dance times 😭 we missed the majority of them.

Horses in the grotto.

A random merchant stall. I love merchants but Boo was being a brat at this time πŸ™„ she wanted to see the jousting so I was distracted by her while trying to shop.

I loved these guys’ outfits! They put ours to shame πŸ˜‚

The church =) we stopped to buy food tickets (a ridiculous system imo and the only part of the festival that I disliked), buy slightly overpriced water bottles & pop, and take a bathroom break. Boo somehow cut her finger on her pop so we took a quick stop at the first aid tent.

Then we decided to go to watch jousting.

Jousting was okay! Maybe we were too early (right at the start) and everyone was only just getting into it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I didn’t find it particularly exciting.

Hate selfies πŸ™ƒ but here’s my pretty bestie and I.

The service at the festival grounds was terrible. My text reminder for our appointment was nearly 30 minutes late. We ended up running to the Braid Bar every 15 mins to make sure we didn’t miss the next one.

Finally we got in! Saeryn went first and got a braid & bun with flowers. Boo suddenly decided she wanted the same so I let her go before me.

Saeryn couldn’t stop admiring herself in the mirror. It was so cute.

Loove this pic of Saeryn. (She decided to take her horn off at some point.)

The girls and their finished hairstyles! Boo went with a braid & bun as well.

A little photoshoot of their new ‘dos.

Nabbed this photo from a festival-goer (thanks, Shawn!). I need my own paparazzi to take candid photos of me πŸ˜‚

I got my hair done with a ‘warrior braid’ a la Vikings.

My warrior braid! Also, my tanlines are amazing today πŸ˜‚

Lmao that little hand. My bestie didn’t get her hair done but she made her floral crown herself, so I took a photo of her in front of the pretty backdrop.

I absolutely haaate posing for pictures πŸ˜‚

We tried to get a group photo but the girls weren’t very cooperative. Saeryn and Boo were acting like kittens (after hearing that there was a kitten castle we could visit). We don’t even have a nice pic with Saeryn.

So we gave up πŸ˜‚ Thanks to Kenzie from the Braid Bar for taking these pics!

The grotto! I would’ve loved to take more photos around here.

The kids found a little castle to play in.

This sign was hidden in the castle and managed to fall down. I thought it was hilarious πŸ˜‚

The one dance performance we caught was the Morris dancers! Loved it!

We went back through the merchants and then decided to duck into the church where there were vocal performances.

Then we headed to the kids’ section, which was kinda small with a petting zoo, three craft tables, two small games and a bouncy castle. The girls decorated paper crowns and then played on the bouncy castle.

I had two food tickets left after pop and water, fries and an overpriced hot dog. We were going to get ice cream but neither Boo nor I wanted any, so Boo got root beer and I gave my ticket to Rok.

The viking village on the far side of the grounds, which we just kinda glanced at.

Highland games! These were interesting but they were right beside the jousting arena which was noisy and crowded. We sat on a grassy knoll for a bit to watch the games.

The grotto. The ale garden was at the top and I had wanted to go to it but we had the kids. (I mistakenly assumed no kids were allowed)

We did go to the top eventually, but the ale garden was disappointing (no flagons! Children everywhere! Bruh.) So we took a quick look at the jousting and then walked back down.

Later online I saw an amazing pic someone took from the other walkway, with the church in the background. I wish I could’ve taken more pics but there was a grumpy child in our midst πŸ˜‚

A few shots overlooking the festival grounds.

On our way out! We spent 4.5 hours at the festival. The only thing we didn’t really see was the archery and axe throwing, which I had been looking forward to, but apparently that was tucked away in some corner πŸ˜‚ we changed out of our costumes and then headed into the city for food and books before making our way home.

I found the most perfect necklace at the last stall I saw at the festival 😍 So happy to have this little souvenir of our time at the festival πŸ’•

Weekly Round-up #12: For the Week of 07/08/2018 – 07/14/2018

Sunday morning was full of errands~ I picked up this O’Henry 4:35 bar at the dollar store πŸ˜‚

I’ve been on an Alice Hoffman kick this week. First I read The Rules of Magic which I scored at the free library! Then I read Second Nature which I’ve had for ages and omg. It may replace The Story Sisters as my favourite Hoffman novel.

Some witchcraft on Monday evening. I made a root chakra balancing bottle.

I finally opened my Animal Totem Tarot. Ughh I love this deck so much. (I bought this one months ago to replace the first set I had.)

My chamomile is coming up nicely!

Ah, so glad I can buy sushi again 😍 I treated myself to a new dragon roll and salmon rice paper rolls on Wednesday.

And my girl Koosh dropped off an iced Kenora Mist for me 😚

Quality time with my babies 😍

Inquisitive Lily!

Buddy enjoying the good life.

Friday night was pizza night at the bar! My bestie and I have been looking forward to this for ages. We had drinks from the new summer menu~ sangria for me and Popsicle Dip for her!

And we ordered two wood-fired pizzas from The Black Oven, a pizza truck that has partnered with the bar to do these pizza nights. We had the Margherita annd I forget what this one was called…

After good food and plenty of drinks, we went for a stroll down to the Habourfront to take photos.

Rare smiling selfie.

My bestie enjoying the sunset.

We made friends with a little spider!

And the geyser went up πŸ’•

On our way back I discovered this Hawaiian shaved ice truck. I wanted to check it out on Saturday but alas, it was closed.

Saturday morning = yard sales! We only went to four but I had fun.

Nippers for lunch!

I got a gyro 😍 forever craving these!

Saturday evening I had a tea leaf reading party (my second this week). This nosy little kitty was very interested in everything. I had so much fun reading =)

Home with Buddy πŸ’• he needs to snuggle under blankets to feel safe sometimes (due to his past).

A ridiculously long week that is now over.

xo,

Rhia

Weekly Round-up #11: For the Week of 07/01/2018 – 07/07/2018

Trying to take a few more pics this week…something I’ve struggled with in all my years of blogging πŸ˜‚

In between Canada Day celebrations on Sunday~ my niece playing with his farm while Baylor watches curiously.

Swung by the used bookstore on Monday (and again on Tuesday.)

Geocaching on Monday! This was a difficult cache…

I found an old shack in the woods.

Taking a different route…

My niece resting while I grabbed the cache.

I slipped on the moss and got caught between some rough dead tree branches.

Second cache adventure on Tunnel Island.

I actually haven’t been here before.

Wading in the lake.

My niece opening our last cache of the day. We hiked over 8 kilometers!

On Tuesday, my mom, Boo and I went geocaching with our new account. Yeah, we have to redo all 8 kms and then some…πŸ˜‚ this was the Stairway to Heaven cache. It’s simple but one of my favs!

The view from the bottom of the stairs.

And then we went blueberry picking for an hour. We managed to pick half an ice cream pail-ful between the three of us!

I heard about a medieval festival that will be happening in a few weeks~ my bestie and I are going with my niece and her kid! We might dress up. Boo likes this fairy costume but I might encourage her to wear shorts and a tank so she can partake in the games.

Maggie and Bluebell (my rogue bunny) hanging out =)

I stopped by Sure Thing on Friday. I haven’t been there in ages and I forgot how much I love their clothes! This dress was a no, however.

My chamomile is growing up =’) I can’t wait til I can harvest it!

On Friday evening I decided I needed to cull my third of the bookshelf. I brought 9 books to the little free library….annnd left with 12 πŸ˜‚ but one was the newly released Alice Hoffman novel! I devoured it in a day. Soo good.

Saturday at the shop~ my niece modeling one of our kids’ tees!

Rounded off my week with some sushi at the bar~ apparently the evil sushi lady is gone so I won’t get glared at when I try to get sushi, yay!

xo!
